MIRADA CORTA celebrates the best national and international short films of the season in a city that pays tribute to independent cinema. With prominent names in Mexican film history such as Alfonso Arau, Elisa Miller, Tatiana Huezo, Alfonso Cuarón, Guillermo Del Toro, and Alejandro G. Iñárritu, Mexico City has become a global capital of cinema, discovering a new wave of filmmakers and honoring their creativity.
MIRADA CORTA presents the most outstanding films each season, inviting the audience to enjoy the diverse genres proposed in each competition: narrative, documentary, experimental, animation, horror, and comedy.
With a dedicated space for filmmakers, industry professionals, and special guests, the aim of MIRADA CORTA is to create an encounter that fosters creative and production possibilities in a relaxed and professional environment. It is an opportunity to establish connections within the framework of an independent red carpet.
Each screening is presented by moderators and concludes with Cast and Crew Q&A ‘s sessions.

Through short filmmaking, Mirada Corta unites passion with purpose. Supporting foundations in need and collaborating with film schools, we shape the future of cinema and foster a world where creativity thrives.
The jury, composed of prominent filmmakers and film professionals, will choose the winners of each competition and award three prizes at the end of the festival to encourage the production of short films: Grand Jury Prize: USD 1500. Young Promise Award: USD 1000. Additionally, the audience will have the opportunity to vote and choose the People’s Choice Award, which will also receive a cash prize of USD 1000.
